'El Traje de Teruel'
2016
During her studies at The University of Zaragoza, Teruel campus, Spain, the artist explored the art of costume design, considering how this could be adapted to her practice. Influenced heavily by nature from her farming heritage, the piece 'El Traje de Teruel' combines organic forms found in nature with intricate textile and waxwork. The piece alludes to the mythological symbol of Aries through the casting of the ram horns and spine. As is often found in the artist's concept this influence aims to explore identity, as she continues to keep her artwork as a reflection of the self.
